"Ok, let's be honest. Snap set castings are just not as nice as regular basket settings. But heavier settings generally run $60 to $100. Then you have to pay your jeweler to set your stones, mine charges $25.00 per stone. That's why I use these castings. Visually they look almost the same, and I can set the stones myself. I would not, howver, set really high end stones in these unless I was sure they were hard and durable, because there is a small chance that when you snap these in, you will chip a stone. 90% of the time I have no problem and overall I think these castings are beautiful, a terrific value, and I highly recommend!"

"I bought this snap set for a set of garnet because it's so hard to find Big garnet earnings set in 14kt gold, or they are really expensive. The earnings are comfortable, not weighty, or falling down and I have gotten compliments on them. Snaping them in was easy. Thx jtv for making this affordable to me."
