Product Description for Min 1.10ct Mm Varies Round Champagne DiamondThe name "diamond" comes from the Greek word "adamas", meaning "the unconquerable." Diamond earned this named as the hardest gemstone, ranking a 10 on the Mohs' scale--the highest rank possible. Diamond's cutting resistance is 140 times greater than ruby and sapphire, the next hardest stones on the scale. Irradiation treatment is sometimes used to enhance the color of diamonds. During this treatment, the stone is exposed to high-energy sources (like electrons) to create wonderful colors.

"Eye visible fracture under the table...not easy to miss. Poor quality, probably should not be considered for jewelry unless someone wants to try to have the fracture filled!? I looked at 7 champagne diamonds from JTV around 1 ctw, ranging from $700-1,000. Only one was eye clean (see the review for D2R3291). All the rest, including a 2nd stone -3291, were I (Imperfect) quality, some with severe dangerous fractures or cracks; others with multiple obvious inclusions. I don't know if it's because I got either the last or the next to the last item, but these champagnes are NOT very good. Some do sparkle and even show some nice reflections. But I'd say that 90% of what I saw are poor quality from the standpoint of cut, clarity, etc. See my other reviews!"

Fast Facts
| Diamond is the hardest known gemstone on earth. |
| In 1477, Archduke Maximillian gave his betrothed a ring set with a diamond as a love token, making it the first recorded diamond engagement ring. |
| Diamond comes from the Greek word “adamas” meaning invincible. |
| Some beautiful purple color garnets will often be found in kimberlite (blue ground) soil samples in diamond rich areas and called diamond indicators. |
As diamonds are formed by nature, most naturally develop minute imperfections known as inclusions. A diamond is considered “clean” if a trained eye cannot see inclusions when viewing the diamond through a color corrected lens at 10 times magnification. |
|
Diamond is crystallized carbon, the only gem composed of a single element. The most popular diamonds are traditionally colorless, but they can also be found in yellow and brown colors. Although much rarer, diamonds known as “fancies” also come in blue, red, pink, green, orange, black, lavender and purple. On Mohs’ scale of hardness, diamond is the world’s hardest substance at 10. It has a high luster and primary sources include South Africa, Namibia, Australia, Botswana, Russia, Zaire, Brazil, Ghana, Angola, Central African Republic and Canada.
