"Shopping at JTV for 7 years has made my daughters and I best friends, so I wrote to the 'Girlfriend Friday Club' to share our JTV story: JTV actually called! I was asked to be a 'girlfriend,' and enjoyed speaking live with Sharon & Avi! For the first time ever, the 'Girlfriends' gave away two gifts: this beautiful Tanzanite pendant & a matching gorgeous Tanzanite ring (ARM214) for my entire family! Can you believe it? I was so moved; JTV had asked my favorite gemstone, birthstone, favorite color... honestly, I never expected my favorite, Tanzanite! And the show featured gorgeous green gems (my color) and Tourmaline (my birthstone). It was all so magical! Ladies, write to 'The Girlfriends' and share your experiences; it's fun! As for the Tanzanite, this pendant is splendid! Exactly what so many of us desire, this is a medium blue Tanzanite cluster: as blue as our sky, with wonderful refraction of light, clarity and cut. The white gold is ornate, complimenting the blue of the Tanzanite, and the cost -- $79 -- is underpriced! We are blessed to have access to this quality & color for these prices; JTV makes Tanzanite investments easy (just imagine having a 1 and 1/2+ cluster of medium color-change Alex now-a-days!) and one simply will not find this quality & carat weight anywhere else for under hundreds & hundreds! Thank you JTV & Girlfriend Club!"

Fast Facts
| The mineral zoisite was discovered around 1805 in the Austrian area by a Baron for whom it was named. It was usually brown in color, often nearly opaque. |
| The discovery by accident of the tanzanite version, in the late 1960's was a great surprise in Tanzania Africa, where it was first thought to be sapphire crystals. |
| The name Tanzanite was coined by Tiffany who had first and exclusive rights to the pretty blue violet mineral for many years. |
| Wearing a well-cut Tanzanite communicates self-confidence, individuality, and maturity. |
Its brilliant color and its exclusive origin in Tanzania combine to make Tanzanite a unique and highly sought after gemstone. |
|
Tanzanite is a variety of zoisite. It has naturally occurring shades of blue, green, yellow, pink, brown and khaki but virtually all gemstone quality crystals are heat treated to produce the highly valued shades of sapphire blue, amethyst and blue violet. On Mohs’ scale of hardness, tanzanite is 6.5-7. The prime source of all the world’s tanzanite is in Tanzania near Arusha.
