"poor workmanship on the prongs. I'm sending this one back because the stones are just so much lighter than pictured and the prongs on several of the stones are just so rough & stick up so I know they'll pull and pick on my clothes....not to mention the possibility that the stones in question could fall out as a result of the poor prongs. The stones DO sparkle and the setting shines. Too bad the stones are not just a bit darker and the workmanship on the setting better. It would be a keeper for sure !"

Tanzanite is a variety of zoisite. It has naturally occurring shades of blue, green, yellow, pink, brown and khaki but virtually all gemstone quality crystals are heat treated to produce the highly valued shades of sapphire blue, amethyst and blue violet. On Mohs’ scale of hardness, tanzanite is 6.5-7. The prime source of all the world’s tanzanite is in Tanzania near Arusha.
