"This stone has good clarity. No visible inclusions. But the cut is not good. It has large depth%, which will reduce the brilliance. Also, the stone look smaller in diameter. Probably only 6.5mm. Not like a regular 1.40ct stone. It's probably because of large depth% and bad cut. Girdle is very thick."

"I purchased this diamond and put it in a yellow gold solitaire setting with band - it is a beautiful ring, it makes quite a statement -- it is large, although not quite the measurement mm-wise you should see with a 1.4 ct., but still nothing to really be upset about. The weight is there, but it is just not as well proportioned as it should be. Still, it is a beautiful stone, with beautiful color and flash. There are imperfections, but they are not bad nor very noticeable to the naked eye. I get a lot of compliments on this ring, and people often do a double-take when they realize it is not a white diamond - but in fact a very beautiful colored diamond. I think if you love champagne diamonds, and you have been looking for a larger stone, you should give this one a try. The only thing I would like to see more would be better proportioned diamonds and better clarity diamonds, but again, the clarity on this stone isn't all that bad."

Fast Facts
| Diamond is the hardest known gemstone on earth. |
| In 1477, Archduke Maximillian gave his betrothed a ring set with a diamond as a love token, making it the first recorded diamond engagement ring. |
| Diamond comes from the Greek word “adamas” meaning invincible. |
| Some beautiful purple color garnets will often be found in kimberlite (blue ground) soil samples in diamond rich areas and called diamond indicators. |
As diamonds are formed by nature, most naturally develop minute imperfections known as inclusions. A diamond is considered “clean” if a trained eye cannot see inclusions when viewing the diamond through a color corrected lens at 10 times magnification. |
|
Diamond is crystallized carbon, the only gem composed of a single element. The most popular diamonds are traditionally colorless, but they can also be found in yellow and brown colors. Although much rarer, diamonds known as “fancies” also come in blue, red, pink, green, orange, black, lavender and purple. On Mohs’ scale of hardness, diamond is the world’s hardest substance at 10. It has a high luster and primary sources include South Africa, Namibia, Australia, Botswana, Russia, Zaire, Brazil, Ghana, Angola, Central African Republic and Canada.
