    "I must have gotten a dud when I look at the other reviews. I have several other iolites and this looks nothing like them. My ring is so pale it looks like a poor quality amethyst. Definitely going back."

    "This ring is impressive! The Iolite in the ring are deeply saturated with intense color and the White Zircon’s are clean and sparkly. The design of this ring is very antiquated in my opinion and quite an eye catcher. I’ve received numerous compliments over the past few days I’ve been wearing it. The Iolite on the side of the setting are appropriately set, which makes this ring very comfortable to wear. This ring has a splendid presentation on the finger and is simply breathtaking. The picture on the listing for this item does not do this ring justice by any means. I guarantee you will be pleasantly surprised when you open the box this magnificent creation comes in."

    Iolite is a clean, beautiful stone that is still very affordable.
    It can be found in blue to purple to light gray colors.
    The Vikings used iolite as a light polarizer, using it to see through the haze and determine the exact location of the sun on overcast days.
    With a very strong pleochroism, iolite changes colors when viewed from different angles.
    Iolite is found in Myanmar (previously called Burma), Brazil, India, Madagascar, Sri Lanka, and the United States.








    Iolite

    Iolite is a gemstone with a slight variability in chemical composition between stones. It exhibits a blue-to-violet range of colors and sometimes shows a brownish streak. On Mohs’ scale of hardness, iolite is 7-7.5. It has a greasy luster and primary sources include Burma (Myanmar), Brazil, India, Madagascar, Sri Lanka and the United States.
