Product Description for Min 3.25ct 12x10mm Oval Paraiba Tourmaline Simulant-PXV12100A

Tourmaline was named after "turmali", the Sinhalese word for "mixed", probably because of the variety of colors it's found in and the fact that it can be bi-, tri- or parti-colored. Tourmaline ranks a tough 7 to 7.5 on the Mohs' scale of hardness. It is the national gemstone of the U.S. but is found all over the world, with colors varying depending on its origin. Indicolite is the name for the deep blue to greenish-blue variety, and rubellite is the pink-red color.

"The stone and color are lovely. My particular stone seems to have a permanent smudge on the table that I have been unable to get off. I'll be talking to customer care about it. I'm sure they will take care of it. If you like stones that say, "Here I am!", this one's for you."
