"I purchased this ring based on other customers' comments because I do not like pale amethyst and have been trying to find an amethyst ring with good color - so thank you to all who commented on its wonderful color for leading me to buy one. :-D Though it is not advertised as African amethyst, that's what it looks like - rich, saturated, royal violet-purple with red-purple flashes. No way does this look like a $14.99 ring! I keep seeing people looking at it on my hand. :-D"
