Product Description for 32mm Chiastolite Sphere With Hematite Stand

The name "andalusite" comes from Andalusia, a province in Spain where it was discovered. Andalusite is pleochroic, meaning it appears to be different colors when viewed from different directions, and is generally cut to enhance this feature. In fact, andalusite has such pronounced pleochroism that the colors can be seen simultaneously. Andalusite ranks a 7 to 7.5 on Mohs' scale and is found in lovely earth-tone colors like reds, greens, and oranges. It is mined in Brazil and Sri Lanka.

"If you like collecting things a little out of the ordinary this is for you.
The cross is very distinct, the color of the stone itself has spots of irridescence.
People pick it up and sy "that's neat"
I see no prupose, other than decorative, but it certainatly makes a good conversation piece."
