    Product Description for Min 1.00ct 8mm Round Morganite

    Morganite was named after J.P. Morgan in honor of his gem and mineral contributions to the American Museum of Natural History in New York. Discovered in the early 1900s, morganite ranges in color from pink to peach and can fade if exposed to sunlight for a prolonged period of time. Generally larger stones are the darkest, so they are preferred. Morganite is a durable gem, ranking 7.5 to 8 on the Mohs' scale, but it can crack internally if treated roughly.

    "I bought this stone back in June of 2007. It is just beautiful. The cut is fantastic & the color is just what I wanted. It has that powdery pink color that is so enhanced by the cut. It looks like a pink diamond. In fact I've decided to have it set in a fabulous semi-mount that I also purchased from JTV. It's going to look so beautiful. I paid double the price for my stone & I think that was still a "steal." Don't be intimidated by the picture. It doesn't come close to doing it justice!"
