Product Description for Min 1.00ct 9x7mm Oval MorganiteMorganite was named after J.P. Morgan in honor of his gem and mineral contributions to the American Museum of Natural History in New York. Discovered in the early 1900s, morganite ranges in color from pink to peach and can fade if exposed to sunlight for a prolonged period of time. Generally larger stones are the darkest, so they are preferred. Morganite is a durable gem, ranking 7.5 to 8 on the Mohs' scale, but it can crack internally if treated roughly.

"I ordered these stone to make earrings for a friend who lost similar earrings. These are such a wonderful soft pink with a touch of peach and the cut is super. It brings out the twinkle in the stones with each movement and will look great in dangle earrings. And the price was really good."

"Nice stone and very inexpensive. I bought this and a pink tourmaline to see which would go best with a rose gold pendant semi-mount (also from JTV). The pink tourmaline blew this away for the pendant ... no comparison next to the rose gold. But this is still a very pretty stone, worthy of a different setting."
