    Product Description for Min 9.75ct 18x13mm Oval Morganite

    Morganite was named after J.P. Morgan in honor of his gem and mineral contributions to the American Museum of Natural History in New York. Discovered in the early 1900s, morganite ranges in color from pink to peach and can fade if exposed to sunlight for a prolonged period of time. Generally larger stones are the darkest, so they are preferred. Morganite is a durable gem, ranking 7.5 to 8 on the Mohs' scale, but it can crack internally if treated roughly.

    "I've bought a number of Morganite from Madagasgar. The color is beautiful. It's even better if you get it quantum cut as it allows all the facets to give a light show that's unique to this particular stone. Make sure you get a stone that's from Madagasgar as this is the only Morganite that has the peachy pink light show. Also, with JTV selling their stones by MM only, you will more than likely get a larger stone than you paid for! I bought a 3.95ct. what I got was a 6.19ct. stone. This is one of the things that always brings me back to buy my individual stones from JTV. I hope this review helps someone!"
