    Product Description for Min 1.25ct 9x9mm Trillion Morganite

    Morganite was named after J.P. Morgan in honor of his gem and mineral contributions to the American Museum of Natural History in New York. Discovered in the early 1900s, morganite ranges in color from pink to peach and can fade if exposed to sunlight for a prolonged period of time. Generally larger stones are the darkest, so they are preferred. Morganite is a durable gem, ranking 7.5 to 8 on the Mohs' scale, but it can crack internally if treated roughly.

    "Although the cut on this morganite is very nice, the color saturation is less than I prefer on a morganite. I will put it in the safe with my other morganites because the price is still good for a morganite."

    "I love the colour and sparkle on this gem, this is the 4th purchase of gems and the only one I can honestly say I love. There is one small issue which necessitates me sending it back - the table of the stone has a chip in it but it's just a replacement I need this time thank goodness !"

    Named after the wealthy banker and gem lover J.P. Morgan, morganite is actually pink, rose, or peach beryl.
    Pliny the Elder recommended beryl as an exceptional cure for eye diseases.
    Considered an oracle stone, beryl was once considered useful in divining the future and in look for missing items.
    A pure pink beryl is found in Minas Gerais (Brazil). Other sources include Afghanistan, China, Madagascar, Mozambique, Namibia, Zimbabwe, and the United States (Utah, California).





    Morganite is a gemstone in the Beryl family. It exhibits a range of colors from soft pink to violet to salmon. On Mohs’ scale of hardness, morganite is 7.5-8. It has a vitreous luster and primary sources include Afghanistan, Brazil, China, Madagascar, Mozambique, Namibia, Zimbabwe and the United States (California, Utah).
