Discovered in the early 1900s, morganite ranges in color from pink to peach and can fade if exposed to sunlight for a prolonged period of time. Generally larger stones are the darkest, so they are preferred. Morganite is a durable gem, ranking 7.5 to 8 on the Mohs' scale, but it can crack internally if treated roughly.
