"We bought this as a complement to the Madeira cross which won the design contest. The spessartites are a beautiful golden orange, and bigger than we expected. A nice touch is the white gold which outlines these stones, and gives a 3-D effect. The diamonds themselves are more of an accent. A very custom presentation."

"This ring is worth the money hands down. I love the area around the diamonds that is high polished white gold. It really sets off the diamonds, which are white and bright. The Spessartite stones are great as well. This ring shows up well from a distance, which brings on the the compliments! I paid full price for it and felt it was worth it so the clearance price is a true bargain!"

Spessartite is a rare garnet ranging from a yellowish-orange to an intense fiery orange known as mandarin garnet.




Spessartite is a brilliant transparent gemstone. The colors of spessartite garnets can range from a bright vibrant orange to a deep red-orange color, and even some brownish and greenish oranges. Spessartite was once just a collector's gem but moved into mainstream gemology in the 1990s. Spessartite is 6.5 to 7.5 on the Mohs' scale of hardness and, like all garnet, is untreated, so the beautiful color that you see is strictly as nature created it.
