"I purchased 2 of these (along with 1 of the 6mm round rings). Cannot tell a single bit of difference between this oval version & the round version. Measured them all repeatedly, and even held the 2 styles prong-to-prong ---- no difference. Makes me wonder how well the ring casting will hold an oval if it measures no dfferently from a round. I have some beautiful stones that I would like to set, but no way am I going to take a chance that they will be loose or out of alignment. Sorry JTV -- know you are touting these solitaires as a great deal, but I'll wait for something else."

"The setting looked perfect until I set my pretty peridot into it. Then I noticed that the prongs were crooked because my peridot looked crooked. Also, of the 4 prongs, one of the prongs did not snap down onto the stone. This prong is sticking out away from the stone and will snag onto clothing. I will have to take this to a jeweler to get it fixed in order for it to look presentable."
