"i bought another tazanite with this same minimum carat weight for about thirty dollars more and this one actually had the darker color. this gem is about 1 or 2 shades lighter than the top gem color, but its still nicely saturated. mine still wasnt as dark as they showed on tv but i think it has something to do with the studio lights. :P"

Tanzanite is a variety of zoisite. On Mohs’ scale of hardness, tanzanite is 6.5-7. The prime source of all the world’s tanzanite is in Tanzania near Arusha.
