    Lucky stone makes nice gifts for heart & home. I was happily surprised: recessed candle holder, color, candle & pretty presentation.

    "This candle appeared online May 29th for the Memorial Sale at half price & sold out quickly! When it arrived right on time the following weekend, I was so surprised to learn of its many unexpected details. The base is made of very nice natural oak, carved and polished into a smooth, curving base with recessed candle holder. It coordinates perfectly with our dining room light oak fireplace and dining table. The agate is a pretty rose pink with a pink gift box label to match, showing the candle and the brand, Lucky Stone. The set includes one tea-light candle (although battery operated candles also look lovely, lighting up the rose agate while keeping curious cats cool ;) Nice touches for purchasing agate candles as gifts."

    "Red is considered good luck in Asian culture, so putting this next to my husband's Buddha was a natural choice. I got this item on a JTV sale, and the agate alone is worth the price I paid for this tea light holder. We love the gentle crimson glow in the evening, either inside listening to soft music, or out on the porch enjoying the song of the peepers."

    Agate is a subvariety of chalcedony with banded, concentric shell-like layers with some even containing opal substance.
    Agate layers sometimes vary in color and transparency.
    The bands also vary in shape. They may form sharp angles or rotate in a gentle oval.
    The use of agate spans across time reaching all the way back to ancient Egyptians and Indians.




    Agate is a quartz crystal and a subvariety of chalcedony. It is found in a wide range of pale colors including green, yellow, red, reddish-brown, white and bluish white. On Mohs’ scale of hardness, agate is 6.5-7. It has a waxy or dull luster and primary sources include South of Brazil (Rio Grande do Sul), north of Uruguay, Australia (Queensland), China, India, the Caucasus, Madagascar, Mexico, Mongolia, Namibia, Wyoming, and Montana.
