"Rutilated quartz is absolutely one of my favorite stones. I am always looking at the site and debating whether or not to take the plunge. The reviews on this stone were medicore so I didn't buy. Then I saw it on TV. It looked like what I was looking for. I looked at the site again. The picture was as nice as the stone on TV. So I ordered it. I am not very happy with it. It is cloudy in places. It has a spot that looks like rusty iron ore. Not the prettiest stone I have seen from JTV. However it is still a cool looking stone so I will probably keep it. I just won't use it for jewelry."

"This type of stone varies a lot from stone to stone; that's expected. (I usually pass on them.) The on-air host said the stones in this lot were especially "clean" and clear, so I gave it a try. The stone I received was NOT clear, but filled with inclusions, hiding most of the rutile needles -- which is the whole point of the stone. You may get lucky, but it's a nuisance when you pay for shipping both ways and end up with nothing. JTV is good about prompt refunds, though. Good luck, but be prepared to make a return if you give it a try."
