Chris Meystrik joined Jewelry Television® (JTV) in December 2004 as Vice President of Technology and served in that role through September 2011. Since then, Chris’s current position is Chief Technology Officer.
Before joining Jewelry Television, Chris was Chief Technology Officer at LastMinuteTravel.com; Vice President of Consumer Technology at WebMD, where he engineered all technology aspects of the WebMD consumer portal www.webmd.com; a Senior System Consultant for various industries in the Southeast and Midwest; Systems Manager for Tennessee Valley Authority; Senior Consultant for Oracle Corporation; and research associate on Particle Accelerator control systems in the Engineering Physics Division at Argonne National Laboratory near Chicago.
In addition to his role at JTV, Chris has been an active member of many technology partners’ customer advisory boards. He has been featured in several published articles and has consulted on technology solutions for various companies. Chris is the current chairman of the Industrial Advisory Board for the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department at the University of Tennessee where he has served for more than a decade. He also is a founding and active member of the Knoxville Technology Council and has presented at several events on behalf of JTV.
He has been actively involved in several rounds of private capital funding and has expertise working with diverse types of business units to clearly define objectives, outline goals, and establish timelines. Chris brings a proven history of defining, developing and deploying successful business platforms in growing dynamic organizations, with extensive experience in building and motivating teams toward a common goal. By maintaining a positive and highly technical spirit within the work environment, he focuses on developing and retaining quality staff.
Chris has an elevated level of expertise in the most complex areas of computer science and internet technology. Chris holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Tarkio College in Tarkio, Missouri, and a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
