Tim Matthews is President and Chief Executive Officer of Jewelry Television® (JTV) and serves as a member of the company's Board of Directors. Tim oversees and leads all aspects of the company's powerful omni-digital retail platform that uniquely specializes in fine jewelry and gemstones. Tim joined JTV in 2008, and JTV has become a leader in the sourcing and selling of color gemstones and jewelry under his direction.
Tim was able to stabilize the company coming out of the recession of 2007 through 2009. Under his guidance, JTV has achieved growth that far surpasses most retailers, specifically those in the jewelry category. His passion for business and gemstones has resulted in well-deserved recognition as an expert in gemology. He is a life member of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain (Gem-A) and has earned Gem-A's highest degrees, the Gemmology (FGA) and Diamond (DGA) diplomas. He is a Graduate Gemologist (GG) of the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) and has also completed GIA's Graduate Diplomas in Diamonds, Colored Stones and Pearls.
Before joining JTV, Tim was a partner with the law firm of Keating Muething & Klekamp (KMK) PLL in Cincinnati, Ohio for 21 years. He specialized in a full spectrum of corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions and financing transactions. Tim also served on multiple corporate and charitable boards.
Tim received his undergraduate degree magna cum laude in economics from Harvard College in 1978 and his Juris Doctor cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1981. The Best Lawyers in America and Ohio Super Lawyers have repeatedly recognized Tim as an outstanding member of the legal profession.
