How do I participate in auctions?
Can I return an auction item?

How do I participate in auctions?

  1. Click on Auctions in the purple navigation bar at the top of any of our pages.

  2. Choose the type of auction you're interested in from the list. Choose from many options, including just listed, lowest bid, type of product, etc.

  3. Click on auctions of interest to view product descriptions. From this page, you can learn product details, current bid, bid history, and other information.

  4. Bidding is as easy as selecting the “Bid” button. This automatically enters your bid at the next bidding increment. Before bidding, you can increase the amount of your bid by scrolling down to your desired amount.

If this is your first time bidding, you will be asked to complete a simple registration form, agree to the Auction Terms and Conditions, and provide a credit card for billing purposes.

(Please note: Once entered, bids cannot be cancelled.)

  5. You can also take advantage of Maximum bidding using our auto bidder.
With maximum bidding, you select the most you want to pay for an item and select the maximum bid button. Using the maximum bid option gets you the best deal by only bidding the smallest incremental amount possible to keep your winning status. If the bidding in an auction goes over your maximum bid, you will receive an e-mail notification.

How do I bid on an item from my bid history?

Sign in to My Account. Under “My Auctions”, select “Bid History.” Find the item you would like to bid on and select the “bid” button located to the upper right of the item.

What are 1-hour auctions?

One-hour auctions are special auctions currently offered once or twice each month. They last for only one hour, as opposed to the regular 7-day duration of other JTV auctions.

How do I know if my bid is current?

You can be notified by email alert if your bid has been exceeded by checking the box on the bidding page that says "I want to be notified when my bid is exceeded". To ensure receipt of these alerts, please add "acnauction@jewelrytelevision.com" to your email program’s list of acceptable email senders ("safe senders" or "white list"), or your notifications may end up in your spam folder.

How do I know if I won an auction?

After an auction closes, an e-mail notification is sent to the winning bidder (unless you have opted out of notifications). If you are the winning bidder, the item will also be listed in your order history. To check your order history, log in to My Account and select “GO” under Order History.

How do I view my bid history?

Sign in to My Account. Under “My Auctions”, select “Bid history.”

Can you cancel/place a bid?

We are unable to update, edit, remove, place, or otherwise alter any bid.

How can I retract/delete my bid?

Once entered, bids cannot be cancelled.

What is a maximum bid?

A maximum bid automatically increases your current bid, as needed, until it reaches your top bid. This allows you to maintain your winning status without the need to constantly check the status of the auction. Your maximum bid amount is kept secret from other bidders. To use maximum bid, select the maximum bid you are willing to cast in the “Your Bid” dropdown box. Then select “Max Bid using auto bidder,” and select the “bid” button.

Why are there multiple bids for the same amount?

This situation occurs when a maximum bid has been entered and a subsequent bid (bid amount or maximum bid) is entered that matches the original maximum bid exactly. All bid times are recorded by our auction server to the hundredth of a second. At the close of the auction, the server sorts all of the bids by price and then by the time they were entered. The first high bid to reach the server is the winning bid.

Can I return an auction item?

Items bought through JTV.com's auctions are not returnable and do not fall under Jewelry Television's® standard return policy. All auction sales are final.
